Inshore
Fall is just around the corner and fishing is getting better every day. Hurricanes, storm surge, and wind have been constant, but the days in between have been nice and well worth getting out and exploring. For those who are looking to wear themselves out with non-stop action, bluefish, spanish mackerel, jack crevalle, bonitas, and ladyfish are everywhere along the beaches and just inside the passes. Night fishing for speckled trout under the dock lights is still producing good fish in the 17-25 inch range and a few rat redfish as well. Bull redfish are beginning to show in the passes with fish running in the 25-40 lb. range. This fishing is a little more laid back by anchoring up and soaking baits on the bottom, waiting for the rod to double over and the reel screaming. The redfishing on the flats is also getting better by the day with pods of fish gorging themselves on shrimp and baitfish. The key is to fish moving water between the tides.
